Copywriting is the technique of making words powerful, even to achieve a desired end.
If you pay money for a website or run an ad campaign, you want it to be successful, to convert. Converting means people who visit your website or see your ad click on your ad, buy your product, or submit the form you want them to submit.
Now that the explanations are over, let's get on to what I do.
I am a huge believer in short, effortlessly assorbable content. Admission: some of my sentences can get a little long. But the idea is to separate the thoughts and information you want the reader to notice into individual paragraphs. Maybe even a line.
I also strutcture paragraphs and sentences so that the most motivating aspects stand out.
Power words make the idea you want to convey more intense, more motivating.
I try to avoid the wording and obvious structures that might trigger people's scam senses. Motivating shouldn't feel pushy or creepy. That might make your viewers keep scrolling or leave the site rather than to click your call to action!

I even consider wording of hyperlinks to make the links more invitng. An example would be highlighting the following portion of this sentence, "Read this post to learn more about copywriting and links."
Whether dealing with headlines, ads, landing pages, or anything else geared for selling, I'll use copywriting techniques to target customers' needs and wants and express to them why they should choose you.
When it comes to copywriting formulas, I prefer AIDA over PAS. With PAS, it seems too likely that the reader will get scam vibes. They've seen similar patterns too often. AIDA is more exciting and positive while PAS is, well, the "P" stands for problem and the "A" stands for agitation. I'd like to lean more toward positive motivators than negative ones.
As you're about to see on this page, I end copywritten pieces with a call-to-action. I lead a customer where I want them to go and then present them with an easy door to walk through to get to the next step. That next step may be to buy your product, request a quote, or sign-up for your newsletter.
